Equine Assisted Mentor & Counseling

Those in need of mentorship & counseling will have a chance to meet with one of our leaders in both individual and group sessions at Serenity Stables in Gambrills, MD.

We use the horses in our program to help individuals with anger management, conflict resolution, communication, responsibility, self-confidence, trust,eating disorders, ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and much more.

The horses are a wonderful asset to this program and are amazing "counselors."

Donations are accepted to help with the ministry's expenses.

Horseback Riding Instruction

We provide  30 minute and 1 hour private lessons to individuals that would like to progress in their riding ability and go beyond the basic level of riding. 

We provide lessons everyday of the week except Sundays and will work with you to find a time that best suites your schedule.

Cost: 30 minute lesson $25; 1 hour lesson $50

Horse Adoption, Rescue, and/or Purchase

We look for horses that would be suitable for any aspect of our ministry and adopt them from various rescue facilities in our area, as well as, purchase them from individuals that are looking to sell their animal. We also rescue horses from situations of abuse and/or neglect when we are made aware of these types of situations and ask the owners if they would be willing to give the animals to our care. We are not a rescue facility, but we are willing to lend a helping hand to other rescue facilities when the need arises.

Red came to us as a neglect case. He was approximately 300-350 lbs. underweight when he came into our care in 2006. He has gained all of his weight back and is a true blessing to this ministry! We are so thankful to have him in our lives again! He is home!

Occhi aka Pal

June 2009

Occhi was rescued by Melody Parrish of Freedom Hill Horse Rescue at an auction. When he came into the rescues care he was scared, underweight, and had cuts and scratches all over his body. Six weeks later, we went to visit him to see if we should adopt him. When we saw him, his eyes showed his gentle nature and the depth of who he was. We knew that we had to take him home with us to be a part of our ministry family! We are so thankful that he crossed our path! He is such a sweet boy!

  DESIRE Horse Club

DESIRE Horse Club is a basic level horseback riding and horsemanship club that meets every Wednesday from 3pm-6pm. The students learn basic level horseback riding skills and horsemanship skills in this program. The students have many hands-on encounters with the horses at Loftmar Stables in Bowie, MD and have a chance to build friendships with them.

In DESIRE Horse Club, the students not only get a chance to learn about one of God's most amazing creations, but they also get to learn about teamwork, obedience, responsibility, communication, trust, and various Biblical concepts through the lessons.

The students are faced with challenges that will help them grow into a stronger individual. It is the lessons that are underneath the lessons that are the true value to this program.

Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions are available.

Summer Day Camp 

In summer day camp students learn basic level horseback riding skills and horsemanship skills. They also participate in various horse related games, arts & crafts, stories, and movies. At the end of each week there will be a horse show demonstration where each student will get a chance to show off the skills they learned to family, friends, and loved ones. Students attend summer day camp Mon.- Fri. one week per summer month from 10am-2pm. The horse show demo will be from 1-2 pm on Friday.

Cost: $150 per week

Volunteer Program

We seek out individuals who have a passion for horses, people, and serving!

We always need people to lend us a helping hand in any aspect of our ministry from administrative work to helping with the care of the horses and our programs. Horse experience is not necessary, but a willingness to disciple, encourage, save, inspire, reach, and educate is. Because we always like to work with one student, one horse, and one volunteer in our horse programs, there is always a need for individuals with horse experience as well.

Training is available for volunteers.
