Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) & Learning (EAL)

Click to see Part 1 video and Part 2 video of the EAGALA model of conducting EAP & EAL.

Through the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program, we utilize horses to help individuals, children and families with various mental health and human development needs such as behavioral issues, anger management, conflict resolution, communication, responsibility, self-confidence, substance abuse, relationship challenges, trust, eating disorders, attention deficit disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and much more.

In this program the therapy team, which consists of a mental health professional, an equine specialist and a group of horses, works with our clients to address one's therapy goals by setting up ground activities with our horses. This is an experiential approach to conducting therapy in that the client learns about themselves and others while participating in these activities with the horse. "EAP is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach that has an incredible impact on individuals, youth, families, and groups." (www.eagala.org)

This is a unique form of therapy that people can be a part of to enhance one's therapeutic needs. Horses have a tremendous way in helping individuals through life's obstacles and are amazing "counselors".

Through our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program, we utilize horses to help our clients address a variety of learning and educational goals such as leadership skills and team work. EAL is conducted the same way as EAP in that the therapy team, which consists of a mental health professional, an equine specialist and a group of horses, sets up ground activities with the horses, but the focus is on learning and educational goals that are set by the client.

We are members of the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) and have been certified by EAGALA in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning following the EAGALA Model and commit to upholding EAGALA standards and ethics. (www.eagala.org)

If you would like to participate and/or learn more about our EAP program or our EAL program, please go to our "Contact Us" page and contact us TODAY!
